And if you are a basketball lover, I am sure you know this incredibly talented player, Allen Iverson.
Here's a short intro of him from Wikipedia:
Allen Ezail Iverson (born June 7, 1975, in Hampton, Virginia[1]) is an American professional basketball player who most recently played for the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers selected Iverson with the number one pick in the 1996 NBA Draft.[2] He was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 1996–97 season. Iverson is an eleven-time NBA All-Star which includes winning the All-Star MVP award in 2001 and 2005.
Winning the NBA scoring title during the 1998–99, 2000–01, 2001–02 and 2004–05 seasons, Iverson has become one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history, despite his small (listed at 6 feet, 0 inches) stature, with a career scoring average of 26.7 points per game, being sixth all-time. Iverson was also the NBA Most Valuable Player of the 2000–01 season and led his team to the 2001 NBA Finals the same season. Iverson represented the United States at the 2004 Summer Olympics, winning the Bronze medal.
You may now know his brilliance, but do you know his past apart from his basketball career?
Do you know how much he had suffered before becoming a world's famous basketball player? How was he involved in an extremely sensitive issue of racism? And how did the trial of this "golden child" sharply divided the city along racial lines?
Do colours separate good or bad?
This is not at all a movie of basketball, but a documentary of why racism should really disappear from this planet.
This documentary is rated 7.4 out of 10 on IMDB.com, surely a nice movie.
And you can practise your listening skills, particularlly, the African American accent.
