Welcome to my English Playground!

My dear students,

Welcome to my English Playground!

I called this blog my English Playground because I want to share my passion for English with you and hope that some day after reading it, you will find English really fun to learn!

In this blog, I will cover a wide range of topics and touch on funny little things of English which I recently come across. They are most likely topics which I do not have time to discuss in my lessons, but will be such a shame if I do not mention it. Through sharing them with you, I do hope that will strengthen our connections and find joy and excitement in this marvellous language.

I welcome all kinds of questions and I will pick good ones to share with everybody.

For now, I would like to thank you for visiting this blog and I hope you will enjoy your time reading it.

Keep in touch! See you in my entries!

Cheers!
Locky

  1. Dear Locky,

Happy to hear that you have a blog open to us communicating with you. But forgive me in advance if you can't understand what I write because of my poor English. It's a great platform where I can learn more English and other knowledge as well from you.

    Hello, Locky
Surprised to see your blog but soooooooo happy to learn English from you again. But I really want to say that THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your passion in English. If not, I probably stop at the stage of Level 3 Oral. As you described, you'll tell us different things besides English Language. Looking forward to learn more from you.

    May I ask :
    1) quote from your mail of last week,
" It is a place where you can have fun and get to hear something that...." what's the meaning/function of "get to" here ?

    2) If I want to add a subject before "Thank you very much" in WRITTEN English, I usually write like this : "I want to SAY Thank you..."
Is it necessary to add a verb "say" before "Thank you" ? As I notice that in your mail and Welcome, you didn't put a verb before
"Thank you". But "Thank you" is a phrase, how to use it in WRITTEN English ?
As I always don't know how to use "Thank you" in writing.
    Thank you Locky !

  6. Phy,
    1) 'get to do' = 'be able to'
    2) Not necessary, but you can. 'Thank you' is actually verb 'thank' + object 'you', so as long as you follow SVO, subject-verb-object, you will be alright.
